The Happiest Seal

Just look at that contented face. I’ve never seen a seal as happy as this one! We saw four types of seal while in Antarctica – Weddell, Crabeater, Fur, and Leopard. I’m at least 90% sure that this is a Crabeater seal, as they are the most abundant seal species in the world. They feed on krill (which are at least crustaceans if not “actual crabs”), and have sieve-like teeth to filter them out of the water. I’ll post more seal photos next week, so look out for them!
