Revisiting Antarctica

How I wish I meant literally. Although at this time of year it would be far less enjoyable! With the southern winter closing in and days getting shorter, I find my mind drifting south again – to the place where there are months of darkness, and months of light. So with that in mind I’ve jumped back into the archives to last February, when Dad and I set off to the Antarctic Peninsula from Patagonia. A trip that can only be described as perfect. Wonderful weather, charismatic wildlife, truly staggering landscapes, all rolled into just over a week of frantic photography and quiet reflection, sheer amazement and wild joy. Antarctica is another world, one that I hope, someday, to return to.

Today I’m sharing a handful of photos that I’ve processed more recently, looking through my collection with fresh eyes and remembering all the sights, smells, and sounds that came along with them. Today is all pictures, no more words. Enjoy.
