In the summer of 2024-2025, I was back on Antipodes Island for another albatross monitoring season. It was an absolute joy to return and have the opportunity to get to know the place all over again. In some ways they were very different seasons, in some ways similar. Going back with a little familiarity guided my photography a bit more, but as always, I found the things that surprised me and happened serendipitously made my favourite images.
I took a softer approach to photographing in the 2025 season, letting my eyes be drawn by details and moods. We had days and days of fog, and when clear skies came it was like relief to feel the world opening up around us again. Here are some of my favourites.
