Air show

Today’s post was going to be about Oxford, but then I got distracted by some photos that I’d taken at the Tauranga Air show last year. I never got around to processing any at the time because the day after I photographed a friend’s 50th Birthday and had to finish those images first. In a way I’m glad I’ve only processed them now that I’ve started using Nik Software, because Viveza in particular is extremely useful for opening up shadows (among other things that probably deserve their own post at some stage). It was a painfully bright day which made it hard to expose correctly to get detail in the aircraft (which were a lovely variety of colours) and the sky. I really enjoyed the experience though, and I’d love to go to Wings over Wanaka in 2014 although it may be a touch too expensive for me!

Next week perhaps we’ll get to Oxford!
