University Magazine Review

Every semester the University of Auckland Photographic Society (of which I am a member) has an exhibition, usually held in various cafes around Auckland Central. Our topic this Semester was “The Streets”, focusing on urban photography. After our opening night on the 23rd of September, the University magazine Craccum asked to use some of our photos to publish along with a review of the exhibition. My submission “Oxford Dreaming” was one of the photos chosen. I’m not a huge urban photographer usually, but it’s an area I like to explore more when I’m abroad, so I chose one of the many photos I took during my day in Oxford. The quiet alleyways are a nice escape from the bustling main streets, and offer a glimpse of a less frantic pace of life. Below is my photo and a (shoddy iPhone photo) of the review. Once I get access to a scanner I’ll upload a more readable version.

Our Exhibition is in the Theatre Cafe on 256 Karangahape Road until the 20th of October, so if you’re in the area, go and check it out! Some of the photos (including mine) are available for sale via a silent auction.
