Landscapes at Muriwai

A quick blog post while I move back home for the summer!

While we mainly go to Muriwai to photograph Gannets and Terns, there are some great opportunities for landscape photography also. This, however, is quite difficult if you only plan for bird photography, and only have a 70-300mm lens to hand. To make do, I blasted out a few panorama shots made of between 2-3 photographs, and stitched them together in Photoshop. Wanting to capture the drama in the clouds led me to take a few vertical panoramas, which I am rather enamoured with. Click on them and open in a new tab to see them full size. Even with gear meant for a different job, it just took a bit of forward planning to get the shots I wanted. So never stop experimenting!
