Flying South – Looking down at Ruapehu

MistyMountains__DSF9370-Edit20x11WEBMy favourite thing about flying is looking out the window. I love seeing things from a different perspective. I don’t usually get window-seats though, unfortunately!

Flying south to Christchurch, I did have a window seat. I also had a camera (FujiX100), and my laptop. So to entertain myself, I took photos out the window, downloaded them, and edited them while on the flight. It was a bit of a novelty for me, as I don’t usually travel with a laptop!

It’s interesting getting an aerial perspective on land I usually drive through. Flying over the Volcanic Plateau, the plains around the Desert Road where blanketed in cloud, but Ruapehu (in the photo), Tongariro, and Ngauruhoe were all standing clear. Looking west, we could see Taranaki in the distance, dark against the bright sky.
