I am a cold-weather person. I like Autumn and Winter and chill winds. I love the crunch of frost glittering on morning grass. Maybe I just like wearing jackets.

But with Spring comes energy, out of the grey end of Winter, and it re-invigorates me just as the year is winding down. With half a semester to go, assignments galore and exams looming, the vibrance of cherry and kowhai blossoms make me stop and smile. Tui sing ferociously, flapping up a storm to chase newcomers out of ‘their’ trees.

Spring has sprung, the birds are singing – get out there and enjoy it, with or without a camera!
