Few words, more birds

Suddenly, three months has passed and my blog has languished. All I can say is that the end of my field season hit hard (read: went extremely poorly, as was the story for most of our fieldwork last year). It’s taking me a while to recover from that. I have started some fun new things though – like teaching for New Zealand Photography Workshops! I don’t think I stopped smiling for our entire Otago Peninsula Wildlife Photography Masterclass, we had such a stunning time out with the birds. There are plans afoot for a subantarctic adventure in December… Other than that, the PhD is ticking along slowly, and I’m remembering how much I love photography. I am working on a new book project, but I’m also spending time with birds and just…enjoying it. Not looking for show-stopping images. Just getting lost in the process again.

No more words, here are some birds.

Toroa – White-capped albatross
Toroa – Southern Buller’s albatross
kawau – Otago shag
Te pūkanohi o te toroa – Campbell albatross eye
warou – Welcome swallows
hiraka – silk (toroa – Southern Buller’s albatross)
