Birdlands – Launched!

Birdlands is officially in stores! I did the classic move of running off to do island fieldwork the day after it was released, but managed to sneak in an interview of RNZ Nine to Noon (that you can listen to here) as we were doing biosecurity quarantine for the trip. Appropriately, we were headed to the Mokohinau islands, where I began my journey as a seabird scientist nearly ten years ago. I’ll do a little update to that post soon when I get the chance to process some photographs!

You can get Birdlands here, if you haven’t already, or find it in bookstores throughout Aotearoa!

Birdlands also has a beautiful shelf-mate in the form of just-released Song of the Birds by my friend and bestselling author Robert Vennell! They look great next to each other, and Robert writes beautifully about the history of our birds, including some extinct species. I made a quick wander down to Unity Books Auckland to see them on shelves today.
